Is Growing Awareness Of Good Oral Hygiene Driving Growth Of Electric Toothbrush Market?

Bruush Oral Care Inc.

Learn More about Bruush Oral Care Inc., by gaining access to the latest research report. The debate over whether electric or manual toothbrushes do a better job of cleaning your teeth has raged for decades. While both manual and electric toothbrushes are effective at removing plaque, powered toothbrushes often are easier for people who have dexterity issues, such as the elderly, people with disabilities or children, according to the American Dental Association (ADA). The Journal of the American Dental Association published a survey that found that 13,000 out of 16,000 patients who used an electric toothbrush reported better oral health. Still, only 36% of adults say they use an electric toothbrush, according to a report by consumer marketing analysis firm Mintel. The global electric toothbrush market size was estimated to be worth $4.3 billion in 2022 and projected to increase to just over $6 billion by 2027, according to Statista. The market is being driven by the prevalence of periodontal diseases and heightened awareness of the advantages of electric toothbrushes. Electric toothbrush bristles vibrate or rotate to remove plaque buildup from teeth and gums. There are pros and cons to an electric toothbrush. On the plus side, they’re easy to use; most have timers so users can tell whether they’ve brushed their teeth for the full two minutes dentists recommend, and some people feel that their teeth are cleaner. “If you choose an electric toothbrush, make sure the toothbrush is comfortable to hold and easy to use,” said Thomas Salinas, a prosthodontist with the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. “Whether you choose an electric toothbrush or a manual toothbrush, remember that what’s most important is daily brushing and flossing.” Electric toothbrushes also may generate less waste. The ADA recommends replacing your toothbrush every three months, and with an electric toothbrush, you’re just replacing the brush head — not the entire device as you would with the manual version. What Are The Drawbacks? However, electric toothbrushes are more expensive than their manual counterparts; they require charging, and they’re difficult to travel with. And replacing brush heads can be expensive. Replacement brush heads for Sonicare can cost as much as $43 for a three-pack, and the price of Oral-B line of brush heads reaches as high as $40 for a three-pack, depending on the model. What Is A Solution? An example of a more affordable alternative is the Brüush (NASDAQ: BRSH) electric toothbrush, which comes in five colors. Like Blue Apron Holdings Inc. (NYSE: APRN) and Stitch Fix Inc. (NASDAQ: SFIX), which send their food and clothing products to customers who sign up, Brüush’s subscription model makes it easy for consumers to stay on top of replacing their brush heads every three months as dentists recommend. If you sign up for a subscription, Brüush will send you three new brush heads every six months for $18 — just $6 per brush head. The Brüush toothbrush has six cleaning modes for every type of brusher — daily, white, gentle, gum, max, and tongue. Brüush’s electric toothbrush kit sells for $79 and includes the electric toothbrush, three brush heads, and a USB power adapter and charger. The Brüush lithium-ion battery lasts for four weeks on a single charge, and the compact magnetic case makes traveling with the device convenient. Visit Brüush’s website to learn more about the company and its products. About Bruush Oral Care Inc. Obesity And Back Pain: BioRestorative Therapies Inc. Is Working To Address 2 Common Ailments That Plague Americans with a Major Near Term Data Catalyst

BioRestorative Therapies, Inc.

In 2016, Americans spent roughly $380 billion on lower back and neck pain. In the same year, medical costs for adult obesity in the United States were $260.6 billion. That’s why BioRestorative Therapies Inc. (NASDAQ: BRTX) is working to develop treatments for these 2 indications, laser-focusing on obesity and lower back pain. Lower back pain and obesity are major health crises. Lower back pain is the leading cause of disability worldwide, and obesity has been identified as a national security threat by the Department of Defense. With the escalation of both lower back pain and obesity in recent years, companies have realized the market potential for finding ways to improve the lives of those suffering from these conditions. Companies such as Pfizer Inc. (NYSE: PFE), Novo Nordisk (NYSE: NVO) and Vertex Inc.. (NASDAQ: VRTX) seem to have recognized the market potential for potential obesity treatments and are actively looking for the next breakthrough in obesity therapies. FDA Authorizes BioRestorative to Begin Phase 2 Clinical Trials For Chronic Lower Back Pain Indication; Development For Brown Fat Indication Underway BioRestorative Therapies is looking into the viability of BRTX-100 as an alternative to current treatments for chronic lower back pain that manages the pain rather than attacking the root cause such as pain relievers, steroid injections and opioids. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has authorized BioRestorative to begin a Phase 2 clinical trial using BRTX-100 to treat persistent lower back pain resulting from pain-causing degenerative discs. Currently, BioRestorative Therapies is actively recruiting patients to participate in the Phase 2 study. More information can be found here https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04042844?term=brtx&draw=2&rank=1. Another treatment BioRestorative is developing is ThermoStem, which targets obesity and metabolic disorders through the use of brown adipose-derived stem cells to generate new brown fat tissue. This brown fat tissue has been shown to increase metabolic activity and potentially regulate metabolic dysfunction in mice. New Developments Might Promise Better Health BioRestorative Therapies’ leadership is excited about the company’s ability to continue developing its two major technologies that could potentially provide access to multibillion-dollar markets. The company raised $23 million last November 2021 and is funded to prosecute its phase 2 clinical trial targeting chronic lumbar disc disease. Major Catalyst Near Term BioRestorative plans to unveil major safety data for its new therapies within the first quarter of 2023. Company leadership believes this will be a major catalyst for driving growth because positive safety data would provide acceleration to enrollment in and provide major validation for BRTX-100’s Phase 2 clinical trial for lower back pain. BioRestorative also reports that top key opinion leaders (KOLS) are highly engaged in the company’s research and development and are having their clinical sites participate in BioRestorative’s clinical trial. The Company also reports they are oversubscribed in terms of high-quality clinical site selection. With the company’s recent developments, upcoming safety data reveals and involvement of KOLS, BioRestorative is confident that it is heading in a positive direction and is hopeful it will positively impact the lives of millions. BioRestorative Therapies was founded by scientists and researchers committed to developing stem cell therapies to address unmet needs in patients with highly prevalent conditions. Our advances in stem cell biology and delivery protocols harbor great promise in conditioning our bodies’ own regenerative potential to treat major diseases more effectively than current interventions.Today, BioRestorative is actively developing programs that aim to dramatically increase quality of care for both (i) chronic back pain caused by disc degeneration, as well as (ii) metabolic disorders including obesity and diabetes. Partnership for Food Safety Education Promotes “Don’t Wash Your Chicken”

Partnership for Food Safety Education

Salmonella causes more foodborne illnesses than any other bacteria.* To celebrate National Food Safety Education Month in September, the non-profit Partnership for Food Safety Education (PFSE), in collaboration with Drexel University and New Mexico State University, has launched “ Don’t Wash Your Chicken,” an educational program aimed at households preparing and cooking raw chicken at home. Informed by research from Drexel University, this program explains why certain poultry handling practices at home are risky and provides practical guidance people can take to reduce their risk of food poisoning. “This year marks the 25th anniversary of collective efforts to advance safe food handling messages, including safe poultry handling,” said Britanny Saunier, PFSE executive director. “This program addresses why people still wash their chicken and helps them understand why they don’t need to wash raw poultry. It is our hope that, collectively, we’re able to break through those barriers and influence real behavior change that reduces the rate of foodborne illnesses through these new tools.” This program features four animated videos to help home cooks stay healthy while preparing and cooking raw chicken. Aimed to reach a younger audience, the videos provide surprising, catchy food safety messages to grab the audience’s attention. Recent research found that home cooks continue to wash raw poultry because they desire to control the process of preparing food, lack of trust in chicken processing, and the habitual nature of the behavior. Research also revealed that home cooks are willing to change their behavior if they understand the “why” behind the guidance. This program aims to help households understand how chicken is processed before they get it, learn the risks of washing raw poultry, as well as how to safely handle and cook poultry at home. Along with the videos, this program highlights three key safe poultry handling messages: Washing or rinsing chicken increases risk. Salmonella, Campylobacter, and other harmful bacteria live on raw chicken. Washing or rinsing doesn’t remove this: worse, it helps the bacteria spread. When you add water through washing or rinsing, you give these bacteria a way to travel throughout your kitchen. Chicken has already been washed. Today’s manufacturing cleans the chicken, so there is no filth, feathers, or anything else on it that needs to be washed off. Poultry may have a coating of water and protein: this gets cooked off, or you can remove it with a clean paper towel. There’s a better, safer way to cook chicken. If you see anything on the chicken you want to get rid of, wipe it off with a clean paper towel. Separate raw chicken from fresh and ready-to-eat foods. Keep surfaces clean by washing them with hot, soapy water. Cooking chicken to 165°F using a food thermometer will kill any dangerous bacteria and make it safe to eat. For more campaign information and resources, visit the PFSE website at fightbac.org/poultry. * According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention About the Partnership for Food Safety Education The non-profit Partnership for Food Safety Education is the creator and steward of the popular Fight BAC!® national food safety education campaign and the national leader in disseminating information around the linkage of food safety consumer education with positive health outcomes. Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria Announce $3.5M Donation to Complete Construction of the New Library in Roseland

Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria

The Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria (FIGR or Graton Rancheria) has donated $3.5 million to the Sonoma County Public Library Foundation for the construction of a new library in Roseland, located in Southwest Santa Rosa. Along with $16 million provided by the City of Santa Rosa and the State, in addition to $5M pending from other sources, this donation from Graton Rancheria helps close the construction gap of a total estimated project cost of $24.5 million. “We are so proud and happy to be able to support a full-service library in Roseland where so many of us grew up,” said Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria Tribal Chairman Greg Sarris. “Roseland is a community we love and support.” Developed in partnership with the City of Santa Rosa, the new Roseland Regional Library is part of an innovative Hearn Avenue Community Hub being built on a 6.5-acre site at the intersection of Hearn and Dutton Avenues. The 20,000-square-foot library will be part of a campus that will include a community center, an aquatic center and a new fire station. “The Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria’s leadership role in this capital campaign is a perfect fit with city, state and library funds that have already been committed to a new library in the Roseland/Southwest area of Santa Rosa,” said Deborah Doyle, Chair, Sonoma County Library Commission (SCL). “With those commitments and this generous gift, our construction goal is within reach, now we can focus on the $3 million left to raise to furnish and equip the 21st Century library that this community wants, needs and deserves. What a fabulous investment!” “We are so grateful for the generosity of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria,” said Mayor of Santa Rosa Chris Rogers. “Their support and partnership help put shovels in the ground as we deliver this critical project for the Roseland community.” “This extraordinary investment is a testament to the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria’s commitment to giving back to its community, and to its partnership with the library’s mission to support all who wish to discover, learn and share knowledge while we grow as a society,” said Erika Thibault, Interim Director, Sonoma County Library. “This is an important step in a long and mutually beneficial collaboration aimed at serving our community and learning together. We are incredibly grateful to Chairman Sarris and the Tribal Council for this visionary commitment.” About the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria Graton Rancheria is a federally recognized Indian tribe comprised of Coast Miwok and Southern Pomo Indians. Legislation restoring federal recognition to the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria was signed into law in December 2000. Tribal lands are located in Rohnert Park, Sonoma County, CA. Tiny Homes and Airbnb: Why It Pay$ to Be Unique: An Up-Close Look at One-of-A-Kind Stays on Airbnb

YourUpdateTV

Hosts around the world have been sharing their unique spaces on Airbnb for well over a decade, and guests have fallen for their one-of-a-kind stays, from domes and windmills to lighthouses and trains. Recently, Ellis Nanney, host of a tiny home in Boise, Idaho, conducted a satellite media tour to talk about his experience being the host of a tiny house and the financial benefits of listing a unique space on Airbnb. A video accompanying this announcement is available at: https://youtu.be/7lxB2RasYxU In the past two years alone, from 2019 to 2021, nights booked at unique properties have increased globally by nearly 50 percent. With more guests booking unique stays, Hosts are also earning real income, with unique listings earning nearly $1 billion just in 2021. In fact, globally, earnings by night and by traveler were higher for unique than for non-unique listings in 2021. Through Airbnb Categories, launched this past May, it is also easier for guests to search unique listing types, from Treehouses to Caves, Campers to Barns, and connect with unique homes and Hosts they may have otherwise overlooked. A brand new OMG! Category, which has been clicked on over 2.5 million times since launch, also showcases the zaniest of all unique homes on the platform. The OMG! Category even inspired a first-of-its-size $10,000,000 OMG! Fund, which will award 100 of the craziest listing ideas with $100,000 each, turning over-the-top architectural musings into real-life homes, bookable on Airbnb. Tiny but Mighty: Tiny Homes Most Booked Listing Types in the World While treehouses and barns abound on Airbnb — and are among the top 10 most booked unique listing types in the world, it’s tiny homes that take top spot, proving that a little creativity can go a long way. In 2021, more than 2.5 million nights were booked in tiny homes. Tiny homes come in all shapes, but relatively the same small size. And their Hosts know that there’s nothing tiny about their income: Tiny homes around the world earned their Hosts a total of more than $195 million in 2021 – the top grossing unique space type. Take it from tiny home Host Ellis, who purchased a property in the heart of Idaho and spent the next five years building his own tiny house. He finally listed it on Airbnb in 2019, and the property quickly paid for itself— along with even earning Ellis enough money to put toward his travels and investments too. Treetops at the Top: Most Wishlisted Unique Homes in the World When they are not booking, guests are daydreaming about unique getaways, adding countless inspired stays to their wishlists. In 2021, unique listings were added to almost 20 million wishlists worldwide. Tucked away in a serene and leafy neighborhood in East Point, Georgia, USA sits the most wishlisted unique listing in the world, a beautifully appointed treehouse, with all the rustic trimmings but plenty of modern considerations, from a hot tub to indoor heated spaces, for the most cozy stay. It’s no surprise that Lawrene – a successful actress and sparetime weaver (and lighthouse keeper!) in Florence, Canada – has found accidental success from this treehouse craze. After enjoying her own Airbnb stay in Brooklyn, Lawrene wondered what it would be like to try hosting herself, sharing the off-the-grid space she built for herself ten years earlier, right in her backyard. While she convinced her husband to list the space by assuring him hardly anyone would be interested in staying in their rustic escape, to her husband’s surprise, they have welcomed a steady stream of outdoor enthusiasts and no-trace campers since 2012, who enjoy the peaceful escape – and the homemade waffles Lawrene prepares for breakfast. To find out more about the hosting or booking tiny homes and other unique spaces go to Airbnb.com About Ellis Nanney Ellis Nanney was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest where his love for adventure and freedom was developed from an early age. After graduating from Boise State University, he decided to ditch the career path and live his life in a more entrepreneurial way. Coming hot off of a study abroad semester in Sevilla, Spain, the travel bug and an insatiable desire to explore the world took the reins and set him on an unconventional path for the next decade. His work life was filled with either seasonal or temporary jobs that had him marketing Idaho Potatoes as a self-proclaimed ‘Spud Stud’, promoting the Mexican Caribbean as the ‘Cancun Experience Officer’, hosting a travel show called the Fireball Run, and managing the world’s greatest travel experience, the TukTuk Tournament in Sri Lanka. In between these ‘jobs’ he filled the gaps with international trips that have taken him to nearly 40 countries across 6 continents. Along this journey he was always looking for a way to make this lifestyle sustainable while also providing security for his future. This led him to buy a piece of property and build a tiny house that he could both use as a home base and be a source of passive income to support his adventures. Thanks to the help of Airbnb’s platform and many friends and family members along the way, his unique property has had nothing but success. He’s been an Airbnb Superhost since he began in 2019 and now has much more freedom to choose among life’s opportunities. About Airbnb Airbnb was born in 2007 when two Hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home and has since grown to 4 million Hosts who have welcomed more than 1 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, Hosts offer one-of-a-kind stays and unique Experiences that make it possible for guests to experience the world in a more authentic, connected way. Direct Help for Mass Shootings Families and the Communities that Experience Them

YourUpdateTV

Mass shootings seem like a weekly event but what hasn’t changed is the need to support victims and their families after the attention fades while helping provide help to the communities experiencing the unthinkable. Those who comprise VictimsFirst know this personally as they all have been directly impacted by mass shootings. After her cousin was killed in the Aurora theater shooting in 2012, VictimsFirst CEO Anita Busch learned firsthand of the challenges faced by survivors and families and has put that knowledge to work directly helping in the aftermath of 37 shootings so far. Another family member survived the Las Vegas concert during that attack. Busch then led families of the deceased from previous mass shootings from Columbine, VA Tech, NIU, Aurora, Oak Creek Sikh Temple and Newtown to help create a new model for charitable giving – one that ensures public intent so that 100% of donations collected for victims of mass casualty crime actually go directly to those victims. They helped launch the National Compassion Fund. Now some of those same families comprise VictimsFirst. It was for these worthy reasons that D S Simon Media decided to partner with VictimsFirst to conduct a pro bono media tour to raise awareness for the work that they do. “Victims First is an incredible organization. They’re passionate about their important mission, helping people during a time in which their lives have been changed forever” said D S Simon Media, CEO, Doug Simon. “And my hope is that everyone who learns about them, decides to support them.” VictimsFirst responds immediately to mass casualty crimes by helping the community organize in the best interests of the victims/survivors themselves and providing resources, including immediate financial resources to the victim base. They work pro bono and 100% collected into their Victims’ Fund goes directly to victims/survivors. The resulting media tour resulted in 28 interviews across the country, an expected audience reach of over 60 million, and immediate donations in markets where the media tour interviews took place. Giving Metabolism A Boost? BioRestorative Uses Science Surrounding Brown Fat Cells To Provide A Possible Breakthrough In Metabolic Disorders

BioRestorative Therapies, Inc.

In 2017, 41.9% of Americans experienced some level of obesity. Adults experiencing obesity in 2019 spent an average of $1,861 more on medical expenses than people with a healthy weight. For people who experience obesity, the presence of excess fat is a legitimate concern that can cost money, cause additional health problems and be associated with psychological problems such as anxiety, depression and low self-esteem. Some of the health concerns associated with obesity include high blood pressure, high bad cholesterol and low good cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke, gallbladder disease and osteoarthritis. Research has found that extreme obesity is associated with suicidal behavior and suicide attempts in adults. With growing data on the impacts of obesity, researchers at organizations like the National Institute of Health and Harvard Medical School have devoted resources to understanding new methods for combatting metabolic disorders such as obesity and type 2 diabetes. Both the National Institute of Health and Harvard Medical School reportedly made an exciting discovery. While fat has often been villainized, what many people may not know is that there are two types of fat cells — brown fat cells and white fat cells. Excessive amounts of white fat can be concerning and may lead to an increased risk for health issues such as heart disease, diabetes and numerous other metabolic diseases. On the other hand, brown fat cells have been found to potentially be an important tool for combating different metabolic diseases. When people with high brown fat activity are exposed to a relatively cold temperature, a protein (SLC25A44) is produced and used as energy in cells to generate heat, which results in burned calories and increased metabolism. When researchers blocked the production of this protein in mice, it was found to increase levels of obesity and signs of diabetes. Researchers found that boosting SLC25A44 activity is a promising strategy for potentially treating conditions such as obesity and diabetes. Companies such as Ember Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ: EMBT), Adipo Therapeutics LLC and BioRestorative Therapies Inc. (NASDAQ: BRTX) are actively working to use these scientific studies to combat metabolic diseases. Promising New Treatments One of the treatments developed by BioRestorative Therapies designed to potentially target obesity, diabetes and other metabolic disorders is ThermoStem. BioRestorative says that the ThermoStem program uses brown adipose-derived (otherwise known as brown fat) stem cells to help increase metabolic activity. Previously published studies by BioRestorative have demonstrated that transplanting brown fat can increase metabolic activity and regulate metabolic dysfunction in diet-induced obese mice. BioRestorative Therapies reports it is working on Investigational New Drug Application (IND)-enabling studies to enter into first-in-man clinical studies. Using a cell-based approach to target metabolic disorders may potentially provide a disruptive solution to address a multi-billion market opportunity. While the fight against metabolic disorders such as obesity is far from over, it is hopeful that therapies based on the findings surrounding brown fat, such as ThermoStem may provide relief for many currently struggling.
