WINNERS OF “Sustainable Shipping for a Sustainable Planet!” ART CONTEST ANNOUNCED

North American Marine Environment Protection Association

Two grand prize winners and 10 finalists have been selected from all entries in the 2020 “Sustainable Shipping for a Sustainable Planet” calendar art contest sponsored by the North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA), the United States Coast Guard (USCG), and the Inter-American Committee on Ports of the Organization of American States (CIP-OAS). Each year, these organizations invite students in grades K-12 throughout the Americas to create a poster on a theme identified by the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) World Maritime Day and related to the marine environment. A 2021 bilingual calendar showcasing the winning entries will be printed in English and Spanish. Students were challenged to come up with a creative image(s) depicting sustainable actions the shipping industry is undertaking for the sustainable future of our planet. Maritime shipping has existed for thousands of years- ever since the earliest humans took to the water to find food, building supplies, and adventure. Throughout its history, shipping has evolved into the most environmentally friendly and safest way to transport goods and energy around the world . Today, the maritime shipping industry transports about 90% of the items and energy people use every day. Now, more than ever, there is the need for creative ideas on how shipping can and is making the future better for people and the marine environment. The maritime industry is working intently to reduce its environmental impact on many fronts. The winning artwork will be featured on NAMEPA, Coast Guard, and CIP-OAS websites. Finalists will receive a certificate and a calendar with the artwork from all 12 winners. Two grand-prize winning artists (one from each of the grade brackets) will receive, in addition to the certificate and calendar, a $100 cash prize and a USCG prize package. To view the winning “Sustainable Shipping for a Sustainable Planet” artwork visit . The North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA) is a marine industry-led organization of environmental stewards preserving the marine environment by promoting sustainable marine industry best practices and educating seafarers, students and the public about the need and strategies for protecting global ocean, lake and river resources. He Turned His Obsession With Ticks Into a Million Dollar Business

TickEase, Inc.

Most of us don’t want ticks anywhere near us, our family or our pets. But Dan Wolff, of Waltham, MA, brings ticks everywhere he goes. He even brought them to his recent wedding. Wolff is known as Tick Man Dan. He’s the inventor of the patented TickEase tick removal device for people and pets. And he’s turned his obsession with ticks into a million dollar business. Dan surrounds himself with ticks. He wears shoes, socks, shirts and a watch emblazoned with tick pictures. He drives a huge tick mobile van to public events. Even at his recent wedding, he wore a tie covered with pictures of ticks But before you dismiss him as simply a curiously obsessed fan of ticks you should know there is a method to his tick madness. He wants to get people thinking and talking about ticks - and doing something about them. He is a frequent speaker to community groups, talking about ticks, their behavior and life-cycles and how they relate to the environment. Even his voicemail message says “Make sure to do a thorough tick check daily on yourself and your pets. And don’t neglect your crevices.” Dan has videos and educational information about ticks on his website, That’s because Lyme disease is the fastest growing vector-borne disease in the United States. Without a reliable diagnostic test, awareness is critical—and being able to safely and properly remove a tick is crucial to preventing infection. From a tin foil prototype to $1M in Sales That’s what led Wolff to create TickEase - a dual sided device designed to remove attached ticks from people and pets. One side has the angled, pointy, fine-tipped tweezers recommended by the CDC for tick removal from people. The other side has a V-shaped scoop for removing ticks from pets. Prompt and proper tick removal is a critical step in preventing infection. TickEase is the right tool to easily, safely and completely remove all types of ticks from people and pets. Wolff made the prototype for TickEase in his basement, out of tin foil. Six years later, TickEase sales have reached a million dollars a year. The device is sold in more than 300 online and retail stores nationwide, including Walmart, Target, REI and Amazon. His invention is more important than ever this summer. Thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, many people are venturing out into parks and onto trails for fresh air, exercise, serenity – and ticks that carry diseases. Wolff’s physician father was mentor to Dr. Anthony Fauci . The two men were so close, in fact, that Dr. Sheldon Wolff was best man at Dr. Fauci's wedding. And Dr. Fauci even attended Dan’s Bar Mitzvah #### TickEase is the only patented, CDC-compliant tweezer designed specifically to safely remove attached ticks of all sizes from people and pets. Baking Spirits Bright During Christmas in July Covid Style: Bringing Merriment and Real-Life Journey to Others with Diabetes

Drop the Puck

Viewers will fall in love with the No Sugar Baker, with her real-life story and energetic warm personality. Her story hasn’t been told but nationally over 34 million are diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in our nation alone. What is different? In six months, she’s turned her life around. Last August, on her 44th birthday, Jayne Jones got super sick and landed herself in the emergency room with stunning vital signs. After numerous tests, the ER physician diagnosed her as a severe diabetic who was minutes away from having a stroke. This was an eye-shocking surprise for Jayne, a lawyer by trade and health policy wonk. The next hours were crucial---no one told her that she’d lose her sight! Jayne lost her vision/eyesight for 15 days. She went on prescribed medications, but never insulin. Her attitude was lifesaving. Jayne went to work and wore out her tennis shoes. She changed her diet and eliminated all sugar, fruit, flour and snacking. Fast forward to April, per the advice of her college daughter, Jayne started a whim of an idea during the COVID stay-at-home, a recipe blog featuring her daily story, struggle and journey. That journey: In less than five months, Jayne lost 60 pounds, was medicine free and her eyesight is now 20/20. All accomplished by pure lifestyle change. Since April, her blog has over 22,000 followers, over 30,000 views of her fun warming Saturday morning garage sale shopping show and every day, Jayne gets messages about how she has impacted others’ lives. Starting Friday July 17, for 12 days, The No Sugar Baker is during its first major announcement---Baking Spirits Bright A Celebration of Christmas In July---during such a difficult time. Besides tasty Christmas treats, the family is even sending out Christmas cards too. The recipes, No Sugar Baker’s Bacon Crusted Pizza, No Sugar Baker’s Blueberry Pie Ice Cream and No Sugar Baker’s Cinnamon Rolls. Jayne would love to talk with your audience, viewers and readers. She can cook live from their kitchen, tell her story in a fast-engaging way and their kitchen will be “decked” in holiday spirit. A winning story in a difficult time. No Sugar Baker Social Media Information: Website and Blog: Facebook Followers: Over 20,000 since April 15, 2020; Over 30,000 views of Saturday morning 6 minute garage sale show and recipe debuts; Instagram Followers: Over 2,500 since June 10, 2020 Jaynejjones About the No Sugar Baker (Jayne Jones) Jayne Jones is the author of a series of six children's books, “Drop the Puck,” which tells the stories of young hockey players. Jayne, born and raised in Minnesota, grew up on chewy tator-tot-hotdish and sugary pans of bars. After law school, Jayne worked in state and federal government public policy roles. Jayne has founded a government grant firm, a nonprofit chaperone travel service for individuals with intellectual disabilities and learning differences and authored six national and world award-winning books. Jayne loves braised current events, is bubbly strong willed, and her least favorite charred word is “no.” Jayne is a proud non-coffee drinking Lutheran, who drenches the church with her voice singing all hymns. A self-taught decadent cook, baker and party thrower, Jayne’s main love is entertaining and knocking everyone’s aprons off with her creativity, devotion to dollar saving tips and delightful savory tastes. Though far from “a-typical,” a typical weekend would find Jayne roaming enticing garage sales, trying a new gratifying recipe on her glorified taste testing team, and rooting for her friends in the National Hockey League. Jayne got deathly ill and sick in the fall of 2019. Her love of the kitchen, party throwing and zest for life got crumbled up in one bite. But, not out of sight. She had a sour after-taste but that bitterness won’t last long or become over baked. The timer was up for perishable days. After six months of blood, sweat and tears, Jayne rolled up her sleeves, put back on an apron and went to work as the No Sugar Baker. Jayne is married to Chris Beehler, (AKA The Hubs), and has a college-aged daughter Emily (AKA Em). Contact Details Andrew Blum +1 917-783-1680 Company Website

Building on Success of Its Business and Financial Networks, Dianomi Now Offers Lifestyle Brands a Distinct Premium Native-at-Scale Environment

Dianomi , the financial and business-focused native ad marketplace for premium brands and publishers, today announced it has begun testing a new, distinct lifestyle marketplace with select brands and publishers, including The Washington Post and Kiplinger. The industry-first offering offers lifestyle brands a premium, brand-suitable environment, providing important revenue streams for lifestyle publishers that goes beyond core programmatic display. As part of Dianomi’s mission of maintaining contextual relevance, the lifestyle marketplace is separate from its core financial and business network and will ensure audiences see brand content that is in context of the premium subject matter they’re engaged with. "Ad quality is what originally drew us to Dianomi years ago and it's still what sets them apart from the field," said Andy Price, Head of Revenue Operations, North America at Dennis. "When branching out to new verticals, it's important that we continue to provide a quality, meaningful experience for our readers. We're delighted to work with the premium lifestyle brands that Dianomi brings to our audience." As brands look to reallocate ad budgets from social platforms and third-party, data-targeted display to more brand-safe environments, Dianomi has established its lifestyle network to answer to advertiser demand for more premium, in-context and brand-safe solutions that operate at scale. Dianomi has proven its ability to bring premium brands and publishers in the professional services and financial industries together and is building upon that expertise for lifestyle brands and publishers, starting initially with automotive, fashion, travel and hospitality verticals. “Lifestyle brands and publishers we work with have been asking us for a brand-suitable, premium native content solution and we are answering their call. It’s early days but we are already seeing terrific results in helping brands reach new audiences and offering the world's leading publishers an important incremental revenue stream,” said Rupert Hodson, Co-Founder and CEO of Dianomi. “For marketers who create deep, professional brand assets – catalogs, look books, videos, thought pieces – that go beyond display, we offer them the magic of putting the right content in front of audiences at precisely the moment of interest. In addition, we know blue-chip publishers don’t want to see ‘belly fat’ ads at the bottom of their pages and are increasingly insisting on premium ad partners. Now that both publishers and brands are reevaluating advertising and monetization strategies, it was the perfect time to expand our solutions to new categories of brands and publishers.” Dianomi is a performance-driven ad platform, where advertisers only pay based on performance, cost per click (CPC) or cost per view on video. This ensures ad dollars are being spent on real results and not lost to low performing tactics. Dianomi’s publishing partners include The Wall Street Journal, Business Insider, Fast Company, VOX Media, Bloomberg, Reuters, BBC , and Fortune and features brands such as BlackRock, Fidelity, Etrade, and Charles Schwab. Dianomi serves more than 8.5 billion ads on 220 premium publications, reaching more than 340 million readers per month across the U.S., EMEA, and APAC. About Dianomi Dianomi is the native ad platform for the financial services, technology, corporate, and lifestyle sectors, providing advertisers with access to a global audience of 340 million online consumers.
