Caledonia Mining maintains 2023 guidance following challenging first quarter

Caledonia Mining Corporation CEO Mark Learmonth tells Proactive's Stephen Gunnion the company faced significant challenges in the first quarter, resulting in lower production and higher costs.
He said Caledonia Mining is confident the issues have been identified and addressed, and reiterated its production guidance for its Blanket Mine in Zimbabwe of between 75,000 and 80,000 ounces of gold. The results also reflected the cost of putting into production the Bilboes gold operation, 75 kilometres north of Bulawayo, he added.
