Mariner Advisor Network (The Network), along with CalBay Investments, announced the continued growth of the firm, which includes naming Advisor Dylan Bell, CFS, CES, CFP as successor to recently retired Jeffrey Martens, and gaining recognition of firm excellence by both LPL Financial (LPL) and Barron’s. CBI is a wealth management firm with three office locations based in Danville, Santa Clara, and Sacramento, California.

Bell joined the team in 2019, drawn to CBI’s commitment to its clients and sophisticated service model. “My favorite part of working independently,” Bell shared, “is that we work for the client with their best interests in mind at all times.” A diligent leader and strategic thinker, he recently received his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification, and ultimately became the succession plan for a sunsetting Martens, who fully retired at the beginning of the summer. “I am excited for the opportunity to take on Jeff’s practice,” Bell said. “My experience with CalBay Investments and the resources we provide creates a powerful combination of value and support for our clients.”

While CBI expanded its leadership into the next generation, Founder and Principal Michael D. Allard was elected to the LPL Executive Council Office in 2021, and has been recognized on the Barron’s “America's Top 1,200 Advisors: State-by-State” list* in 2016-2022. Allard and his team have earned a reputation for delivering excellence as financial service professionals, and as leaders within the Bay Area communities. The extended team has also ranked within the top 15 since 2016, out of more than 19,000 independent financial advisors.*

To augment its success and to continue enhancing its service offerings to clients, CBI engages with The Network’s Portfolio Consulting Services (PCS). The Network’s PCS works with advisors to build custom portfolios reflective of their investment philosophy, based on the financial objectives of their clients. These portfolio strategies are branded to advisors’ offices and fully integrated with powerful technology platforms.

“CBI is consistently passionate about the care and services it delivers to its clients,” Christopher Mercado, Managing Partner of The Network said. “I’m confident that Bell is the ideal person to take over for Jeff as the team keeps its eyes on expansion for the company—and its clients.”
