Our company’s passion for increasing digital equity permeates everything do, and we take pride in connecting our nonprofit partners with employee volunteers who share a similar commitment to challenging systemic inequities.

Take, for example, our partnership with BUILD.org, which trains young people from under-resourced communities to use technology to become entrepreneurs and leaders. In 2020, BUILD and Comcast NBCUniversal introduced a new curriculum to help students adapt to virtual learning. Through the COVID-19 Virtual Design Challenge, high school students examined the question: “How might we help people thrive mentally and physically in the midst of COVID-19?”

BUILD invited employees like Angelo Becklehimer, a community account representative and Young Professionals Network Employee Resource Group (ERG) leader in Sacramento, to mentorand coach the students virtually, helping them brainstorm ideasand develop business plans.

Becklehimer, who has experience with startups and volunteerism, says his involvement with BUILD reignited his sense of passion and purpose. “It reminded me of a younger me,” he says. “I brought that spark and energy back into my workplace.”
