Install Solar Panels For 50% Less – Here's How Monalee Is Democratizing Access To Renewable Energy

Monalee

By Meg Flippin, Benzinga Solar panels for up to 50% less? Check out how Monalee is revolutionizing the industry here without sacrificing quality and support. Using the sun to power homes requires cutting-edge technology, but you wouldn’t know it from the companies selling solar panels to consumers. Many rely on pushy salesmen, middlemen and drawn-out, complicated processes to get homeowners up and running. There are plenty of reports of salespeople who have little to no knowledge of how solar energy works yet are selling expensive systems to homeowners. It’s not uncommon for them to use misleading and aggressive sales tactics to rake in hefty commissions, often from elderly and low-income consumers who are duped by their bait-and-switch sales pitches. It’s gotten so bad that the Better Business Bureau issued directives warning homeowners of potential scammers. Turning The Solar Industry On Its Head Monalee, a climate tech company that is accelerating the adoption of home solar, storage and EV charging, wants to change that. It's turning the industry on its head with a technology-first approach to selling and installing solar panels. Monalee’s advanced machine learning uses millions of different data points to give customers the best solar design based on their homes and needs. It takes into consideration factors like the direction the roof faces (for example, a roof in the northern hemisphere that faces south will get the most sun and therefore will be the most efficient), and whether there are nearby trees that might provide shade over the panels. Anyone can go to their site, enter their home address and receive an accurate solar quote in less than a minute. Through its state-of-the-art design platform, you know exactly how many panels you’ll need, the best layout to maximize sun exposure and the bottom line cost including discounts and rebates before you sign up. And Monalee does all that at what it says is a steep discount to rivals. By removing salespeople and system designers from the process, Monalee says it’s able to secure the same solar panel systems at half the price compared to the top traditional solar companies in the U.S. In turn, it says it can save customers up to 50% off the total. Consumers get a break without having to sacrifice quality or customer service. Nor do you have to give up peace of mind thanks to the Monalee Guarantee – this ensures the system works as it should for at least 25 years. At the same time, there are real people behind Monalee. Combined, the team has dozens of years in the solar industry under their belts. While Monalee leans on machine learning to streamline the early stages of the process, they are there to coordinate all the in-person appointments and necessary paperwork that needs filing. See How Monalee leverages technology to provide a quick and easy way to get solar panels installed on your roof. To make it even easier for homeowners to install solar panels, the company recently partnered with GoodLeap, the fintech company that provides financing options for residential solar and sustainable home improvements. GoodLeap is just one of the companies Monalee customers can finance their purchases with. Monalee should know a thing or two about giving customers what they want. Founder Walid Halty spent nearly a decade leading sales and marketing at big solar companies before launching Monalee. He knew customers wanted transparent pricing, an easy way to compare options and peace of mind. He also wanted a drama-free process, one that doesn’t take four weeks, the typical lag time between signing a contract and installation. Monalee, which is in 15 states and growing, is doing for solar what Carvana Co. (NYSE: CVNA) did for car buying. Demand For Solar Is Growing The timing seems ideal – the U.S. is aiming for solar to account for 40% of the country’s electricity by 2035 and 45% by 2050. To meet the first goal, it would need to install about 1,000 gigawatts of solar power by 2035. By 2050, solar capacity would need to reach 1,600 gigawatts to achieve a zero-carbon grid. Over the last decade, solar and energy battery storage costs have fallen 85% making it cheaper than coal and other fossil fuels in many instances. The Inflation Reduction Act, which was signed into law in 2022, is also helping. It provides Americans with rebates and tax incentives to electrify their roofs, embrace electric vehicles, install heat pumps and more. As a result of the law, through 2032, homeowners can get a 30% tax credit when they install solar panels on their roofs. All of this hasn’t been lost on Americans, who are increasingly embracing solar as a cheaper and greener way to power their homes. In 2022, the U.S. added 6.4 gigawatts of small-scale solar. It marked the most in a single year, with rooftop installations on homes representing the lion’s share of the activity. Still when compared to Europe, penetration is low. As of 2022, just 4% of single-family homes in the U.S. were equipped with solar panels. It’s no wonder, then, that Monalee reports hundreds of customers had signed up to Monalee within two months of testing the market. Monalee is hoping to further accelerate adoption with its customer-friendly, technology-driven approach. It is taking the middleman out of the equation, offering transparent pricing and bringing solar panels to the masses. To see how much you can save on your energy bill click here. By leveraging powerful machine learning and removing salespeople and system designers from the process, we are able to secure the same solar panel systems for homeowners at half the price compared to the top traditional solar companies in the U.S., making us the fastest, most efficient way to go solar. A handy-size 500mm that offers a whole new shooting experience. The SIGMA 500mm F5.6 DG DN OS | Sports is an ultra-telephoto prime lens exclusively for mirrorless cameras that features a 500mm focal length with outstanding image quality in a remarkably compact and lightweight body. By incorporating multiple large-diameter, exclusive low-dispersion glass elements that are challenging to process, SIGMA succeeded in significantly downsizing the lens construction without the use of diffractive optical elements. At the same time, the lens has achieved high resolving power that meets the expectations for a 500mm prime lens. The lens body, composed mainly of high-precision engineering plastic parts, has excellent build quality and weather resistance, including dust and splash resistant structure*, despite its compact size. With its rich descriptive power and incredibly compact size for its focal length, the handy-size SIGMA 500mm F5.6 DG DN OS | Sports offers a whole new photographic experience for wildlife, aviation, sports and other fast-action photographers. * The structure is designed to be dust and splash resistant, but not waterproof. Be careful not to bring the lens in contact with a large amount of water. Water inside the lens may cause major damage and even render the lens unrepairable. [Key Features] 1. Perfect for hand-held shooting, a 500mm lens with unparalleled optical performance The latest optical design using exclusive low-dispersion glass elements has succeeded in achieving both an extremely compact lens construction and high optical performance with excellent correction of aberrations. In addition to its size that allows hand-held shooting, the high-speed AF with HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) and the OS2 optical stabilization algorithm support comfortable shooting. High optical performance and compact lens construction The latest optical design has succeeded in significantly downsizing the optical system for a 500mm ultra-telephoto lens. By utilizing exclusive low-dispersion convex elements at the front of the lens, the lens delivers both a high aberration correction capability and a short overall length. The high level of production technology at SIGMA's only manufacturing base, the Aizu factory, provides the exacting precision necessary for processing the exclusive low-dispersion glass elements with a large aperture. The lens has excellent correction of all aberrations, especially axial chromatic aberration, which cannot be corrected by the camera body, ensuring a stable high resolution from the center to the periphery of the image. Excellent backlight resistance The SIGMA 500mm F5.6 DG DN OS | Sports uses refractive lenses in its optical system to prevent flare and ghosting that are characteristics of diffractive optical elements, allowing for clear images without concern for flare or ghosting even in backlit conditions or when a light source is included in the image. Furthermore, measures are taken against all conditions of incident light based on state-of-the-art simulation technology. High-speed AF with a linear motor HLA A linear motor HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) is used for the actuator, which is characterized by its high driving accuracy owing to the advanced electronic control, as well as its quietness. The HLA enables fast and accurate autofocus even in ultra-telephoto photography, such as sports and bird, where extremely precise focusing is required. OS2 algorithm in optical stabilizer function The latest OS2 optical stabilization algorithm provides an outstanding image stabilization effect of 5.0 stops*. The lens is equipped with two OS modes: Mode 1 is suitable for general shooting, and Mode 2 is ideal for panning shots of motorsports and other sports. In Mode 2, SIGMA's Intelligent OS, an algorithm specially designed for panning shots, enables effective image stabilization even when the camera is moved vertically or diagonally, irrespective of the horizontal and vertical orientation. This ensures that the subject's movement can be captured without losing the panning shot effect. * Based on CIPA guidelines (Measured at 500mm with a 35mm full-frame image sensor) 2. Compact, lightweight and excellent build quality The lens body has been designed to be small and lightweight in line with the optical system, which has been made significantly more compact. Not only is the lens easy to handle in hand-held use, but it also has the weather resistance of SIGMA's Sports line specifications and the excellent build quality that SIGMA prides itself on in terms of texture and the operating quality of each ring and control. High-precision TSC* parts enable both high performance and compact, lightweight design In order to achieve such a compact, lightweight and robust body, materials such as TSC and magnesium have been used in appropriate places. In particular, the production of a large TSC part that integrates functions as an internal structure, as well as an exterior part to reduce size and weight of the lens are manufactured with micron-level precision and they also have a sleek finish that gives the lens its premium feel. The sophisticated processing and production technology of the Aizu factory, SIGMA's only manufacturing base in Japan, enables the high degree of precise production and ensures the high performance and durability of the lens. * TSC (Thermally Stable Composite) is a type of polycarbonate with a thermal expansion rate similar to that of aluminum. It has a high affinity to metal parts which contributes to high quality product manufacturing. Weatherability of Sports line specifications The mount connection, manual focus ring, switches and exterior connection are all dust and splash resistant to prevent dust and dirt from entering the lens. Further, the front element of the lens features a water and oil repellent coating to facilitate maintenance when water droplets or dust adhere to the lens. Cover-type lens hood included A lightweight, high-strength, exclusive cover-type lens hood made of TSC is included. The tip of the hood is rubberized to protect the lens from abrasion and scratches caused by placing the lens upside down. 3. A wealth of functions to assist in a variety of shooting situations The SIGMA 500mm F5.6 DG DN OS | Sports is equipped with a full range of assist functions including an aperture ring and three AFL buttons* ready to be assigned to preferred functions using the camera. The L-Mount version is also compatible with SIGMA's tele converters for AF-enabled shooting at ultra-telephoto focal lengths of up to 1,000mm. * Function available on supported cameras only. Available functions may vary depending on the camera used. Full range of customizable functions Equipped with a Focus Limiter switch, the lens enables users to limit the focus driving range during AF when necessary, allowing quick and precise focusing. Further, the lens features three AFL buttons which can be assigned to a range of functions via the menu on selected cameras. The AFL buttons are easy to operate regardless of how the camera is oriented, and make accessing important settings quick and easy. For the L-Mount version, the SIGMA USB DOCK UD-11 can be used to set OS operation or the focus limiter range for the Custom Mode switch*. * The assigned setting for lenses for Sony E-mount cannot be changed from the default setting because a USB DOCK for the mount is not available. The default setting allows users to switch the visibility of the OS effect in the viewfinder and live view. Equipped with an aperture ring In addition to an aperture ring, the lens is also equipped with an aperture ring click switch and an aperture ring lock switch, allowing for aperture operation suited to the shooting application. Detachable tripod socket The lightweight and sturdy magnesium alloy tripod socket is Arca-Swiss compatible. The detachable socket comes with a ring that clicks into position at 90° intervals. * The tripod socket TS-151 is compatible with the SIGMA 70-200mm F2.8 DG DN OS | Sports. Tele Converter for L-Mount (1.4x / 2.0x) The L-Mount version of the lens is compatible with the SIGMA TELE CONVERTER TC-1411 (1.4x) and TC-2011 (2.0x). Using a tele converter, the focal length can be multiplied by 1.4x and even 2x, for AF-enabled shooting at ultra-telephoto focal lengths of up to 400mm. Hive Digital sees 146% increase in Gross Operating Margins as company releases Q3 earnings report

HIVE Digital Technologies

Hive Digital Technologies CEO Aydin Kilic joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce the company's earnings report for the third quarter. Kilic revealed that the company achieved remarkable revenue of $30.1 million during this quarter, primarily attributed to mining 830 Bitcoin. Bitcoin To Surge To $70k As Traders Look Forward To the 'Year of the Dragon', Sui and KangaMoon To Lead the Altcoin Rally

Kangamoon

East Asia is preparing to celebrate the start of the Year of the Dragon in the next few weeks. Crypto traders are excited, anticipating a major rally for Bitcoin as the year is considered one of the luckiest and most prosperous animals in the Chinese Zodiac. Ahead of the celebration, Markus Thielen has forecasted that Bitcoin could peak above $70k before the year ends. Meanwhile, two altcoins, Sui (SUI) and KangaMoon (KANG), are gearing up to lead the altcoin market rally in 2024. Markus Thielen Forecasts a Surge To $70,000 for Bitcoin (BTC) Markus Thielen, a famous crypto analyst at 10X Research, predicts that the Bitcoin (BTC) price will rise to $70,000 by the end of the year. This implies a 65% increase over the current $42,500 - $43,000 range, where the Bitcoin price has remained unchanged for more than a week. Thielen depends on his positive projections on strengthening macro conditions, the U.S. elections, monetary tailwinds, and growing demand for spot Bitcoin ETFs. His claims are bolstered by the increasing attitude in the cryptocurrency industry. On February 10, East Asia will begin the Year of the Wood Dragon. Crypto traders anticipate that the crypto market will suffer the same fate as one of the Chinese Zodiac's luckiest and most affluent animals. As the Bitcoin price increases, the altcoin market is expected to surge in 2024. Sui (SUI) TVL Sets New ATH, Price To Follow With the broader crypto market looking bullish, Sui (SUI) is one of the top altcoins that could take advantage. Over the past few months, the Sui network has grown at an incredible rate, with its total value locked (TVL) increasing by more than 1,000%. According to DeFiLlama data, Sui has a TVL of more than $515 million, making it the ninth-largest DeFi project. The growth of the Sui network can be linked to the rapid development of dApps with real-world use cases. With the network continuing to grow, experts expect the Sui coin to soar in 2024. Year-to-date (YTD), Sui has gained more than 100% to trade at the $1.5 range. However, as the network growth continues, a 30% surge to take SUI to a new ATH is expected, making it one of the top altcoins to buy. KangaMoon (KANG) To Dominate the 2024 Altcoin Market Rally In the upcoming altcoin market rally, KangaMoon (KANG) has been picked by experts as one of the top altcoins to watch. Built around an exciting new concept, the KANG token has been predicted to record a parabolic 100x price surge before the year ends. The DeFi project has attracted this kind of prediction because of its unique Social Finance (Social-Fi) network in the works. The platform also combines elements of play-to-earn, NFTs, and meme coins. This Social-Fi ecosystem aims to become the ultimate hub for meme coin enthusiasts. KangaMoon was designed to encourage interaction among meme coin enthusiasts and reward them for their participation. As the players participate in weekly, monthly, and quarterly challenges and special giveaways, they will earn KANG tokens and other rewards. The greater the participation, the more rewards a user stands to earn. The real-world application of KangaMoon has drawn a ton of interest to the project and is why market experts anticipate its launch. Given the 100x predictions, KANG is considered very cheap, as it is only priced at $0.0075 per coin. Discover the Exciting Opportunities of the Kangamoon (KANG) Presale Today! California Connect, also called the Deaf and Disabled Telecommunications Program (DDTP), provides telecommunication access for Californians with hearing, vision, cognitive, mobility, and speech-related disabilities. The program of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) includes accessible telecommunication equipment and devices, relay service, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices. The California Connect Division President will provide strategic and operational support for the State’s marketing services, equipment distribution, and field operations contracts. Equitable and accessible communication solutions have been at the core of CSD’s work for the past fifty years. Bolstering our partnership with California Connect is a logical extension of our efforts to remove communication barriers for people with disabilities. “With the rapid advancement of communications technology, the person who fills this role must have extensive experience in accessible technology,” stated Chris Soukup, CEO of CSD. “Amanda is perfectly suited to lead the advancement of our California Connect division as they work towards their goal of providing communication equity for communities with disabilities.” Whyrick joined CSD in 2016 as a Systems Administrator and held various leadership roles until her promotion to Vice President of Information Technology in 2022. During this period, she successfully implemented accessible organizational-wide technology policies, including a transition to work-from-home call centers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Before joining CSD, Whyrick provided technology support to organizations including Southeast Community College and Dell Technologies. Now, as Division President for California Connect, Whyrick looks towards modernizing the program in a way that centers on the needs of various communities with disabilities and integrating the most up-to-date technological offerings. “As someone who personally benefits from accessible technologies, I know that access to them is crucial to the health and well-being of the user in all aspects of life. I look forward to extending this same privilege to Californians with different accessibility needs." shared Whyrick. Whyrick will assume the position of California Connect Division President on February 26, 2024.
