About Capital CEO and H.E. Justin Sun share their vision for Huobi Global after acquisition

Ted Chen, the CEO of About Capital Management (HK) Co., Limited (“About Capital”), today addressed Huobi Global staff for the first time, following the purchase of a majority stake in Huobi Global by the buyout vehicle managed by the fund manager on October 8. Calling it a significant milestone for the industry, he lauded the exchange for its achievements and track record, and articulated strategic initiatives to strengthen its brand and competitiveness. He also introduced the inaugural members of the newly-formed global advisory board, which will play an important role in guiding Huobi Global’s strategic business decisions.
Calling the investment in Huobi Global “The most significant acquisition deal of the year for the industry”, Mr. Chen noted that the global virtual asset industry is still in its early stage of development and there remains tremendous room for growth. As one of the most established exchanges with a market-leading reputation and trading volume, as well as millions of international users across five continents, Huobi Global’s business prospects in the international markets have never been brighter with the global vision afforded by the new shareholder structure.
Emphasizing the importance of Huobi Global’s newly established global advisory board, Mr. Chen disclosed the candidate list for advisors composed of industry leaders across blockchain and traditional organizations. By leveraging the diverse business experience of the advisors, Huobi Global will benefit from their management expertise and global visions to drive its next chapter of growth.

- Wang Yang, Vice President of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST)
- His Excellency Justin Sun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Permanent Representative of Grenada to the WTO
- Leah Wald, CEO of Valkyrie Investments (Issuer of BTF, one of the first Bitcoin ETFs in the US)
Joining Mr. Chen in the all-staff address, H.E. Sun said: “Having completed its exit from the mainland China market, Huobi Global will be embarking on a series of branding activities and business developments after the acquisition. Instead of releasing new tokens, our key focus will be on supporting the Huobi Token (HT) to strengthen its place in the virtual assets industry.”
Mr. Du said that he was delighted to work alongside other advisory committee members, as they steer Huobi Global toward its next stage of growth. “My enthusiasm for blockchain and its potential to change society has never wavered in the 9 years since I helped establish Huobi Global,” he said.
Mr. Chen concluded his speech by calling on all Huobi members to uphold their passion and professionalism to meet both the challenges and opportunities ahead.
