Mechanical filters, such as MERV-rated and HEPA filters, have received significant public attention in Canada in recent years, but complete protection against air pollution requires another type of filter. Molecular filters, which may also be referred to as gas-phase filters or activated carbon filters, are essential for removing volatile organic compounds, highly toxic gases, and odorous contaminants from the air.
