DALLAS, July 20, 2021 /3BL Media/ - CBRE has been recognized as a “Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion” by the Disability Equality Index® (DEI) and earned a top score in the 2021 benchmark.

A joint initiative between the American Association of People with Disabilities and Disability:IN, the DEI is the world’s most comprehensive benchmarking tool and measures disability workplace inclusion among the Fortune 1000 and Am Law 200.

In 2021, nearly 320 corporations utilized the DEI to benchmark their disability inclusion efforts, which tracks performance across culture and leadership; enterprise-wide access; employment practices (benefits, recruitment, employment, education, retention and advancement, and accommodations); community engagement; supplier diversity; and non-U.S. operations.

“Earning a top score is a tremendous honor,” said Tim Dismond, CBRE’s chief responsibility officer. “We will continue to partner with our people with disabilities to identify additional tools and opportunities that enable them to build rewarding careers. This community offers exceptional talent that contributes to CBRE’s success and the outstanding work we perform for our clients.”

CBRE’s Abilities Employee Business Resource Group (EBRG) is one of 16 global EBRGs that play an integral to helping advance the company’s diversity, equity and inclusion strategy and initiatives. The Abilities EBRG supports and advocates for the professional and personal requirements of employees with disabilities and its advice helps to inform the company’s recruiting and talent development efforts. Since launching in 2020, the group has grown to more than 400 members.

Earlier this year, CBRE was named as a top company for diversity, women and new graduates by Forbes and received a perfect score for the eighth straight year in the Human Rights Campaign's Corporate Equality Index. Additionally, the organization was recognized in Bloomberg’s 2021 Gender-Equality Index.
