In celebration of Pride Month, last week Pentair employees from around the world came together for a virtual panel discussion event to learn about the LGBTQ+ community and the history behind Pride Month, and to share ideas for how to build a more inclusive workplace for LGBTQ+ employees.
Our panelists shared powerful stories of their own experiences - both as members of the LGBTQ+ community and as allies - that highlight and remind us of our Win Right values and our goal of creating a diverse and inclusive company culture that celebrates our individual uniqueness and fosters belonging for all Pentair employees.
To conclude the event, employees were encouraged to share their “I will” statements – actions they will take in their daily lives to help drive continued positive change within the workplace. Following are a few inspiring examples:
“I will actively advocate for and support our LGBTQ+ community and allies to create an inclusive, inviting culture of trust within Pentair.”
“I will be a safe space for those around me to be their authentic self and feel as though they belong as they are.”
“I will continue to learn about, advocate for, support, and lift up the members of the LGBTQ+ community.”
