Maureen Dunne of Naperville was reappointed to a second term as Chair of the College of DuPage Board of Trustees at the Board’s annual Organizational Meeting held April 21.

Dunne was elected to the Board for a six-year term in April 2019. A COD graduate, Dunne obtained her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Chicago, a master’s from the London School of Economics and a doctorate in cognitive sciences from Oxford University, where she was a Rhodes Scholar.

In addition to her academic accomplishments, Dunne has co-founded, led, and advised venture-backed technology companies, as well as having served on the board of directors for numerous nonprofit, civic, and corporate governing bodies. She is the Founder of the Transition2Success Project, a first-of-its-kind proprietary wrap-around support program, demonstrating significant success in supporting neurodivergent people as they transition into college, apprenticeship, entrepreneurship and/or employment opportunities. She is also the Senior Advisor and Special Educational Needs and Disability Expert for the Lego Foundation, where she recently helped support the launch of a $20M Accelerator Fund.

Dunne currently serves as Vice President and President-Elect to the Illinois Community College Trustees Association (ICCTA). She is also a member of the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) Board of Directors and a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), a highly selective, invite-only global leadership community for the world’s top chief executives who have achieved significant leadership success at a young age.

“As a proud College of DuPage graduate, I consider it a great privilege to help mold the future of an institution that had such an impact on my development,” she said. “I look forward to continuing this Board's important work as we strive to best serve the district in support of student success.”

In addition, Trustee Christine Fenne of Wheaton was reappointed to serve a one-year term as Board Vice Chairman and Trustee Heidi Holan of Glen Ellyn was reappointed to serve as Board Secretary.
