For 12 of those years, she has guided individuals, couples, and families to develop better boundaries and balance with technology. Dr. Tenille’s insight empowers clients to disconnect from negative technology habits and reconnect with themselves and their loved ones.

Dr. Tenille is a licensed clinical social worker with a Bachelor’s in Psychology, a Master’s in Social Work, and a Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy. She utilizes her knowledge to serve clients across the country and empower the Black community to tackle their online addictions. Dr. Tenille intimately understands the lived experiences of her community as a Black woman who also operates in a male-dominated field. Dr. Tenille offers multiple services to suit the unique needs of her clients including counseling, accessible and confidential virtual coaching, as well as workshops and a three-week coaching program. Her internet-proof counseling services relieve a variety of problems for different demographics. Teens can receive support with cyberbullying issues, online safety, and technology addiction. Adults and couples can consult Dr. Tenille about online addictions that lead to affairs, financial, and social consequences. Some of the most common online addictions she encounters involve porn, gaming, gambling, cybersex, and social media.

Although some of these addictions, particularly those involving sex, are highly stigmatized, Dr. Tenille encourages clients and their families to seek help early on.

“Any form of addiction is a taboo topic because people and their families may feel very shameful about the condition,” says Dr. Tenille, “However, as a licensed professional that serves hundreds of clients with these issues, it’s extremely common, especially as technology has become more accessible. The pandemic was another factor that exacerbated online addiction, whether it be to your phone or watching porn. Overall, it’s critical to find support proactively so you avoid the damage your actions can have on your relationship, career, and personal reputation.”

If you or your loved one is struggling to keep up with daily tasks and has a heightened desire to engage in addictive behaviors, there is help available. Dr. Tenille and many other providers specialize in online addictions.

As a BIPOC (black, indigenous, and other people of color) mental health professional addressing an underserved niche, Dr. Tenille has already made a strong impact on clients. With her keen insight into psychological methodologies, Dr. Tenille carefully assists clients with unpacking, processing, and moving forward from addiction.

To support her growing business and the community’s increased need for an online addiction specialist, Dr. Tenille will be focusing on virtual coaching programs, speaking engagements, and onboarding more practitioners at New Creations Counseling.
