Transparent Hands, the largest technology-driven platform for crowdfunding in the healthcare sector of Pakistan, has announced new initiatives aimed at assisting underprivileged communities across the country. The program seeks to provide vital medicines, provide free consultations, several diagnostic tests, and surgical treatments to disadvantaged patients, especially in light of a recent World Bank report which revealed that 40% of the population has fallen below the poverty line due to high inflation levels.

The team has conducted extensive research to identify the most remote and impoverished regions, including those in slums, rural areas, and far-flung regions. These areas include places in the rural interior of Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, especially areas affected by the devastating floods of 2022, where the services are crucial to help people survive the upcoming harsh winter.

Transparent Hands, is working with the support of national and international community to materialize its dream of healthy Pakistan. So far, Transparent Hands has treated over 90,000 patients and conducted over 20,000 surgeries. Additionally, Transparent Hands has organized over 1,000 medical camps across Pakistan providing free consultations, medicines, and diagnostic tests to patients in need. These medical camps have played a vital role in reaching patients living in remote and rural areas of Pakistan.

Speaking to the press, CEO Transparent Hands, Rameeza Mueen commented, "At Transparent Hands, we strongly believe that healthcare is a fundamental right for every individual, regardless of their financial circumstances. The backbreaking inflation and floods have been unrelenting, with many giving up on their health. We hope to offer a helping hand with the initiatives. We will arrange for resources to visit these areas to offer free services and conduct medical camps to address the pressing healthcare needs of those with limited access."

The services planned under the initiatives also include covering medical costs for cases such as cardiothoracic, pediatric, oncologic, urologic, orthopedic, neurologic, obstetric, ENT, and general surgeries, as well as free-of-cost medical camps where medicines will be distributed. Other than the surgical procedures, patients who cannot afford certain medical procedures can also seek help from Transparent Hands. Some of these medical procedures include angiography, angioplasty, prosthetic rehabilitation, CT scan, MRI, cystoscopy, endoscopy, biopsy, lithotripsy, CT KUB, colonoscopy, and chemotherapy. Cases of pregnant women who have advised a C-section for a safe and complication-free delivery are also dealt with at Transparent Hands.

CEO Transparent Hands went on to add, "We not only need financial support but people to take out their time and energy to offer a helping hand. Transparent Hands welcomes collaborations, support, and participation from stakeholders, donors, medical professionals, and the wider community to extend crucial healthcare services to those in need collectively. We hope, like always, overseas Pakistanis will go out of their way to support Pakistanis who are struggling to afford their medical bills, which is coming to the detriment of their lives and their families."

To ensure complete transparency, donors contributing to the campaign would get a personal dashboard to track their donation's progress and receive regular updates about each movement.

The funds from the crowdsourcing activities will be used to arrange for resources to visit the medical camps, pay for surgeries and market the initiative so a more significant number of people can take advantage of the initiative.
