CAF AMERICA JOINS AMERICAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN POLAND TO LAUNCH CORPORATE AID FOR UKRAINE FUND

CAF America

CAF America, America’s nonprofit leader in international grantmaking with a network of more than 1.8 million charities globally, announced the launch of Corporate Aid for Ukraine (CAU) Fund in partnership with the American Chamber of Commerce in Poland’s (AmCham Poland) Corporate Aid for Ukraine initiative and with the support of the honorable U.S. Ambassador to Poland, Mark Brzezinski. The CAU Fund is a donor-advised fund that empowers corporations to provide effective, impactful aid to Ukrainians during this dire time. The fund is a critical resource in the current humanitarian aid landscape, providing access to frontline aid, enabling tax-deductible donations, providing support from the U.S. Embassy, and ensuring all charity partners are validated charitable organizations, among others. “We are honored to be working in partnership with the American Chamber of Commerce of Poland,” says Ted Hart, President & CEO of CAF America. “CAF America is currently working with over 50 charitable organizations across Europe to provide humanitarian support for Ukrainians, and this fund will help further those efforts by creating access for corporate donors to ensure their charitable contributions have the highest impact and go to those most in need.” “Corporate Aid for Ukraine and AmCham Poland are in a unique position to help the Ukrainian people, including the more than three million refugees who have fled their motherland – of which more than two million have already arrived in Poland,” says John P. Lynch, Founder of CAU, and AmCham Treasurer and Board Member. There is a massive and unprecedented need for financial support for humanitarian aid. “U.S. corporations and businesses are an incredibly important source of funding on the frontlines for aid,” says Tony Housh, Chairman of AmCham Poland. “Our advisory board and AmCham Poland will work in partnership to closely monitor the evolving situation and respond promptly to emerging needs and rapidly evolving challenges as this humanitarian crisis continues to develop.” Benefits of the CAU fund include: Frontline Aid. AmCham Poland, the board and volunteer executives are on the front line of the Ukrainian humanitarian crisis. The Critical Role of Poland. Poland is an EU and NATO-member nation bordering Ukraine. 62% of Ukrainian refugees are in Poland. There are proven open supply-chains into Ukraine from the Polish border. The CAU and AmCham board has decades of experience and are well-connected with Polish government, institutions and businesses, plus has strong contacts within Ukraine. We can get things done here near the front line. Tax-deductible donations. Corporate or individual donations to the CAU Fund to support Ukrainian aid will be fully tax deductible (under U.S. tax laws) as CAF America is a US public charity. U.S. Embassy Support. As AmCham's Honorary Chairman, U.S. Ambassador Mark Brzezinski “applauds AmCham's role in creating Corporate Aid for Ukraine and encourages U.S. firms to support front line Ukrainian humanitarian efforts such as the CAU Fund.” Donations from outside the United States. The CAU Fund can accept donations from companies and individuals from around the world, but non-U.S. donors should check their local regulations regarding the tax-deductible status of donations. Donations made to the CAU Fund in non-dollar currencies will be converted to US dollars and distributed to grantees in the currency of their preference. Strictly humanitarian aid. To qualify for tax-deductibility, donations must be used exclusively for humanitarian efforts. Among the many uses, your donations will be used for the purchase of food, hygienic products, medicines and medical supplies, and more. Straight to those in need. AmCham-appointed CAU donor advisors will advise donated funds to established, validated charities in Poland and aid organizations on the front lines providing immediate support to Ukrainian citizens in the country and refugees in Poland. Full Vetting. Every grantee will be vetted by both Charities Aid Foundation America and CAU / AmCham Poland. As AmCham's Honorary Chairman, U.S. Ambassador Mark Brzezinski said he “applauds AmCham's role in creating Corporate Aid for Ukraine and encourages U.S. firms to support front-line Ukrainian humanitarian efforts such as CAU. I am in deep admiration of this unprecedented initiative to help your neighbors in crisis. This is a perfect example of the very best the U.S. can be in the face of a crisis of historic proportions.” To learn more, please visit https://amcham.pl/corporate-aid-ukraine. Houston Mother Gives ‘Inside Look’ at Staying Connected to the Internet During the Pandemic

Comcast Houston

HOUSTON, TX — A Houston mother is one of the millions of low-income Americans who will now be able to get free, fast and reliable Comcast broadband service, thanks to the new Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) — a federally-funded program that gives eligible households a credit of up to $30 per month towards the cost of broadband service. “When the pandemic first happened, that’s when everything got pretty chaotic,” Jamila Byrd, a Houston mother of two, said. “You don’t really think about how important the Internet is until you don’t have it anymore.” According to the White House, an estimated 42 million Americans are in the same or similar situation as Byrd; they don’t have access to high-speed internet at home. The hardship, often referred to as the “digital divide”, was exacerbated by the pandemic when families had to virtually learn and work from home. “We had to go to friends’ houses, my sister’s house, so my kids could do assignments,” Byrd said. “It takes away a lot of time from us being together as a family. It’s tough for everybody.” The goal of the program is to help low-income households connect and stay connected to high-speed internet for work, school, healthcare and more. Eligible households that enroll in the program get up to a $30 monthly credit ($75 for eligible Tribal land households). Customers can use the monthly credit towards Xfinity Internet and mobile services. Eligible households are those that qualify for programs like the Federal Pell Grant, National School Lunch Program, SNAP, Medicaid, housing assistance and other government programs. “The Affordable Connectivity Program is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that Comcast is proud to actively support,” Houston Regional Vice President of External Affairs Toni Beck said. “As a company and society, it is imperative that we work together to help people connect to the transformative power of the internet both at home and on the go. At Comcast, we’re doing just that.” In response to the ACP, Comcast introduced a new plan called Internet Essentials Plus that offers twice the download speed – up to 100 Mbps – of the traditional Internet Essentials service, a cable modem and a WiFi router for $29.95 per month. With the $30 ACP credit, Internet Essentials Plus is effectively free for qualifying families. Customers who are looking for home internet and top-rated mobile service can now have both at an affordable price. Internet Essentials customers paying $9.95 per month can add one line of Unlimited Xfinity Mobile ($45 per month) for $24.95 per after applying the ACP credit. In February, during a White House event, Vice President Kamala Harris, Federal Communications Commission Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel, and Senior Advisor Mitch Landrieu announced more than 10 million households are enrolled in the Affordable Connectivity Program, the nation’s largest-ever broadband affordability program. Byrd was recently approved for the ACP credit. “I’m grateful for this program,” Byrd said. “If I had to use one word to describe our household environment right now, it’s unity. It brings us together. It helps us to be able to do the things that we need to do, and then we have more time for family time.” To learn more about the ACP, eligibility or to apply go to Xfinity.com/acp or call 1-844-389-4681. Kamau-Imani Appointed Election Integrity Chief

Sharon Macasil - Media Kamp, LLC.

In the aftermath of what can only be called a disastrous 2022 Texas Primary, the Texas Nationalist Movement (TNM) has created a new task force focused on Texas election integrity. Apostle Claver T. Kamau-Imani has been appointed Director of the TNM Election Integrity Task Force. Kamau-Imani’s recent post was as campaign manager for the 2022 Texas Lt. Governor candidacy of Daniel Miller. He currently serves on the TNM Advisory Board, is Chief Counsel to the President of the TNM, and chaplain. The 420,000+ members and supporters of the TNM are outraged at the conduct of the just-concluded Texas primary and the organization’s leadership team is intent on expanding its activism to include the issue of Texas election integrity. A Statement from Apostle Claver T. Kamau-Imani: “It’s very humbling and an honor to have fellow Texas-first, liberty-driven patriots continue to call on me to play critical roles in our collective activism. I want to express my gratitude to the TNM brain trust for expressing such confidence in my leadership abilities. “This is a daunting task. We must educate our members, supporters, and concerned Texans of all political stripes about the untrustworthiness of the Texas election system. The task force will achieve three objectives: continue investigation, build an election ground force through the establishment of a coalition, and construct the framework for 2023 election integrity legislation. “As of now, Texas does not have a trustworthy election system. The electorate is full of doubt about election outcomes. Until a trustworthy election system is created in Texas, the legitimacy of the Texas government will remain in question.” A statement from Daniel Miller, Founder and President of the TNM: “Over the years Claver has become an important part of our team. Post-election he has already been working on this issue, and it was a natural choice to ask him to continue his current work of investigation into what happened in the 2022 Texas Primary, but also take the lead on establishing the ultimate solution to this most-crucial component of our state governance.” Contact Details Sharon Macasil Sharon@mediakamp.com

Global employment platform Multiplier raises $60m led by Tiger Global, Sequoia Capital India

Multiplier

Multiplier, a global employment platform, that helps companies employ and pay talent anywhere in the world compliantly, has today announced a $60m Series B funding round. This round was co-led by Tiger Global and Sequoia Capital India with participation from DST Global Partners. The new investment brings Multiplier’s total funding to $77.2m, taking their valuation to $400m. This news comes in less than 3 months since Multiplier’s series A (led by Sequoia Capital India) and just 6 months after seed funding ( through Surge, the Sequoia Capital India start up programme) as the company scales globally. And testament to the growing popularity of the platform, Multiplier’s solution has been recognised and highly-rated in G2 and Capterra. Founded in 2020, at the peak of the pandemic, the company has been solving the problem of global employment by allowing companies to tap into global talent pools effortlessly. “The talent shortage is real and the restrictions due to the pandemic accelerated it. Businesses are finding it hard to hire people with in-demand skills and have opened themselves to the possibility of distributed teams. Meanwhile, candidates have gotten picky about their employers, the actual work, compensation, benefits, flexibility and much more. With this paradigm shift afoot, companies have recently realized that going global is the only way forward. Country borders shouldn’t hinder the search for the right people for the right roles. We are resetting the mantra that hiring people from abroad is a costly, time-consuming, and organizationally daunting effort.” said Sagar Khatri, CEO of Multiplier. Multiplier eliminates the need for organizations to establish their own legal entities to access talent in any country. Businesses that use Multiplier can focus on employing anyone, anywhere in the world in minutes. The company works with customers from across the globe today, with its roots in the Asia Pacific region. Users can manage global payroll, provide benefits, insurance and tackle compliance with ease starting at $300 per employee per month and $40 per freelancer per month. In geographies where businesses have their own entities, Multiplier is helping companies manage payroll for their employees starting at $20 per employee per month. A key focus for Multiplier is the provision of health insurance coverage, a central provision in most standard benefits packages. However, the market is flooded with intermediaries, agents and brokers, so the cost and the value offered becomes extremely important. Multiplier is the only company in the space to provide locally competitive, customizable and homogenous insurance to its customers starting at as less as $20 per employee per month which comes with a detailed factsheet to compare plans. “With this new capital, Multiplier will be able to further accelerate its work towards expanding the global infrastructure, garnering meaningful partnerships and adding new capabilities to our platform. Additionally, we are also on a hiring spree, looking for an all-star team across countries, departments and levels, helping us pivot at scale and deliver premium experiences to our customers.” added Sagar Khatri. Multiplier is doubling down its approach in terms of adding fresh capabilities to its platform. Businesses can now self-register on the platform and instantly send their candidates offer contracts in minutes, not days. They can also offer employee stock ownership plans to their employees. The team is also working on rolling out the crypto-payroll features so businesses can pay their freelancers with cryptocurrencies. John Curtius, Partner, Tiger Global commented: “Multiplier is uniquely positioned to capitalize on the massive opportunity that lies ahead for them. We’re happy to be a long term partner as they are solving a deep pain point for businesses enabling them to employ and pay global talent effortlessly. We are particularly impressed with their product velocity and the speed of execution. We believe that the future of teams is global and Multiplier will the be operating system powering those teams.” Rohit Agarwal, Principal, Sequoia India commented: "Today, founders and businesses are not constrained by borders in their thinking. This has been one of the most fascinating trends in the last couple of years and it's a fundamental shift. Several founders across Asia are building for the world from day 1 and hiring from around the world from day 1. We believe globalization of the workforce is one of the most exciting trends of the next decade and are thrilled to see Multiplier facilitate that shift seamlessly for hundreds of companies and thousands of employees." Multiplier has become the leading global employment solutions platform in a very short span, with customers across the globe from startups to listed enterprises. The founders believe that every company, regardless of location, deserves to have access to talented employees. The team is committed to democratizing global employment and its mission of bringing the world's potential to businesses of all sizes. Multiplier envisions a future in which every business is truly global.
